Network Marketing has always been a life-changing, belly-to-belly business but 2 things are going very wrong with the industry today.

Unfortunately both are found in the name.

There is no denying the dramatic, positive effect the Internet has had on our industry. The tools it allows automating, websites, autoresponders, voice mails, voice blasters, and the new mobile techniques have not only allowed us to leverage our time more effectively, but also interest those more introverted individuals who would normally have shied away from joining because of the personal relationships you need to build.

However, like many things in life, this automation has made many representatives lazy and only reinforced many poor habits.

Consider the name: NetWORK Marketing.

First, the interNET has allowed marketing efforts to be almost 100% automated. However, Network Marketing is and always will be a person-to-person business, and far too many are using the internet to completely avoid having to talk to people. These same systems that have encouraged people to join because they do not have to use the 3-foot rule or cruise the mall handing out business cards, have unfortunately spawned an entire generation of lazy reps.

And that's the second portion of the word WORK. With the (mis) information about setting yourself up as an expert' and attracting' prospects to you heck one guru' brags they never call a lead' far too many representatives are being trained that proactive WORK isn't required just act like a leader (fake it till you make it) and people will come to you.

No, people join opportunities because they trust YOU and they can only do that once they get to know you as a person. Pick up the phone, give them a call. You'll be glad you did.
