The Evolution of School Fundraising - Increasing your 2010 Revenue

New and more efficient fundraising ideas are continually search for by school administrators, PTA/ PTO members and parents alike, each looking for new and better ways to generate income for their school fundraiser and non-profit groups

A new company has emerged this arena, allowing schools and non-profit groups the ability to harness the power of the internet to increase their fund raising activities. Fundraising Provider is a product supplier and distribution company focusing its efforts in the fund raising industry. "With the technology available today, we use the full power of local branding, social networking and backend programming to drive sales, and track revenue in real time. No one else is doing this, and that is why we are having such great success," reports Michael Carlson, its CEO and Founder.

The biggest difference between other national product fundraisers (such as 4mySkool.com and many others) which offer customers Internet access to their stores, versus a locally branded fundraising campaign, is the increase in revenue from local participants and neighbors. Fundraising Provider allows schools and fundraising groups to supply their logo, and for a small fee, will create a web site, complete with an customized domain name, e-commerce store, distribution of products, automated reports of all sales, as well as their proprietary tracking and social media functionalities. Some schools and groups have increased their revenue by more than 35% with less effort from teacher and parents who often spend hours every day promoting and managing their yearly fundraising activities.

"People love to support schools and fundraisers in their local community. By promoting a web address with your school name in its domain, people instinctively know their participation helps their school."

In addition, Fundraising Provider uses proprietary software tracking every purchase referred by a parent or student, ensuring proper financial credit is given to the school and rewards points are credited to the student. Students may then use their rewards credits to "purchase" items in its Reward Center store, such as iPods, iPads and other items children really want. Reward points are also credited to the student for referral of other students and parents who sign up and begin raising funds for their school or local non-profit group.

For example, unlike other fund raiser companies, Fundraising Provider also allow users to sign-up via their Facebook account and credits users for other individuals who sign-up by following links they have put onto their Facebook page.

Students 13 years and older may sign up for this program, but must have parental consent via an email authorization sent to the parent upon sign up. "Safety is of huge concern for us. Just as our program offers the safety of allowing students to generate sales for their school's fund raising program without the need to go out into the neighborhood and knock on doors like in years past, we have carefully considered privacy and safety matters with regards to our proprietary software and the information we collect." Addresses and phone number are never collected from students or parents in the sign up process and all registration by individuals under 18 require consent from the parent who also get a copy of all future correspondence between the minor and the company.

Fundraising Provider will begin offering its product distribution services nationwide to schools and other non-profit groups beginning in the fall of 2010.
