Take advantage of Promo Codes
Take advantage of Promo Codes

As we wrap up the 2010 Christmas shopping season, I though I would do a little research on shopping online and saving money. In recent years coupons and coupon websites have become incredibly popular. So I asked myself, how many people are actually taking advantage of coupon codes and promo codes online? Suprisingly enough, only 15% of online shoppers actively search and use promo codes. Can you believe that? There are literally tens of thousands of websites that offer free promo codes on their website to use at your favorite stores. Some promo codes offer savings of up to 60% off. So the real question I have is are people just plain lazy or do most online shoppers not understand that major retailers offer new promo codes and online coupons daily?

If you are reading this and are asking, what is a promo code? or what are coupon codes? The short answer is retailers create alpha-numeric codes that you enter in the promo codes or coupon code box at checkout. They then in turn honor that promo code with the discount attached to the alpha-numeric code. For example, you visit Gap.com and add two shirts to your cart and proceed to checkout, before you pay, search Gap coupon codes, or Gap promo codes in Google and find a promo code on one of the listed sites. Copy that code and paste it in the the "promotion code" box and watch the total drop by anywhere from 5 to 50%. Its as simple as that. Now one would think that each time someone were making a purchase online they would follow this simple procedure. Some shoppers may be wealthy and have no problem paying retail or maybe they didn't know that promo codes even existed, either way, we are crossing our fingers that more shoppers will take advantage of this free money saving technique each time they shop, after all the more you save, the more you can buy.
