Christmas is a time when we all reflect about our lives. Like everybody, I am looking for that magical 30 hour day when I can fit everyone and everything in. Truth be told, at this special time of the year we should all reflect on the important things in life. The saying goes, that on the deathbed no one regrets not spending more time in the office, is certainly a truism. It is true that work is an important part of our lives, but it should be counterbalanced by living your life to the full, acting charitably and making the most of your friends and family. You only have one shot at life and you should not waste it.
The universe is massive and our lifetimes are over in the blink of an eye. Happiness and inspiration come when you're not looking for them. They really are found in everyday moments, that if you're always focusing too far in the future, or on things you don't currently have, you walk right past them. I know that from experience and it needs this time of year, a peice of literature, a poignant movie, a walk in a park with the family just to shake you into realising how wonderful your life is.
So my message to you is to stand still, think at what you have and look at what is truly important in your life. It will give you the courage and enthusiasm to start again next year to be even more proactive.
