An Introduction to the Long Awaited New iPhone 4

The Apple iPhone 4 has proven itself to be more than just a clever piece of marketing, but rather a truly great mobile handset boasting the perfect balance between looks, features and functionality.

In terms of connectivity, the iPhone 4 certainly ticks all of the righ boxes. Quadband GSM/EDGE is facilitated as is quadband 850/900/1900/2100 UMTS/HSPA. Simply put, this means that the handset offers the user the ultimate connectivity whilst on the move. Whether it be to check your Facebook page or receive instant e mail notification, you can always be sure of the best coverage possible. To achieve the ultimate results however, then you really need to be connected to either a personal network (home, Work), or a public hotspot to take advantage of the phones WiFi capabilities. Supporting all three speeds (b,g,n) this offers the user the quickest online experience. The iPhone 4 is certainly a clever phone, when in range of such networks, the phone will automatically connect to them, saving you performing this task yourself. Bluetooth 2.1 cover the local connectivity aspect, allowing wireless communication to compatible devices. The RAM memory of the iPhone 4 has been doubled to 512MB from the 3GS and the impressive A4 processor found in the popular iPad has been used again here. As a result and as you would expect the phone zips along at a fast pace, with multi tasking and loading of apps not slowing the handset down at all.

A glance at theiPhone 4 and you will see that it is not only the internals that have changed, but the impressive looking exterior has undergone a makeover as well. The front and back of the unit is made from a treated glass said to be 30 times harder than plastic with great scratch resistant qualities. This gives the handset an expensive and well constructed feel which is added to by the stainless steel band that runs around the edges of the phone. Not only does this make the phone look incredibly good, but it also acts an antenna, reducing space needed inside the phone thus in turn making the overall depth smaller. Gone are the curved profiles of previous models, and in their place are flatter edges and sharper curves, but despite looking more "boxy", it looks more modern and stylish than the models that have come before it. Apple have set the benchmark for others to follow with this new handset, taking the 3GS, a top phone in its own right and greatly improving upon it, leaving the designers and technicians at HTC and Samsung furiously trying to emulate some of the great features found on the iPhone 4.

The iPhone 4 and the Samsung S5550 Shark 2 are available now.
