subject: The Perfect Place For Your Collectable Doll [print this page]

Collectable dolls are highly desirable items whether alone or part of a larger collection, due to their intricate design and craftsmanship. However, some of us don't know where to put our real life baby dolls once we buy them; so what is the best way to display these dolls while keeping them safe?

When we spend money on our beautiful dolls, we don't want them to end up on the floor, or picked up by little, grubby hands, so finding somewhere secure for them is key. But we also need to achieve the balance that comes with this, as we also don't want to hide them away in a locked cupboard where they cannot be enjoyed either.

Display shelf

One option is to have a special shelf for your doll collection; this means that your children or grandchildren can also enjoy them from a distance. You can rest assured that your dolls will only be handled with care and under supervision. Also, if the shelf is in a room where you often relax, such as your bedroom or living room, you will be able to look over and enjoy them as often as you wish.

Special furniture

The great thing about collectable dolls is that they range in ages, from newborns upwards. You can continue with the age theme and set them in a place that reflects this. Newborns can be put in miniature cribs, whilst the older dolls can be placed in minute versions of rocking chairs, armchairs, pillows, and beds. This option is more suited to homes without dogs, cats, or children, as the dolls can often be closer to the floor.

Doll care

Aside from where to display your dolls, you should also consider where not to, as damage can occur to them without human touch. It is advisable not to place your collectable dolls near sources of:

*Direct sunlight; this can affect the colour of your doll and its clothing,

*A naked flame,

*Smoke or strong odours.
