Most people have been waiting for the time when internet mogul Google would finally enter the mobile phone market. After a lot of rumors circulating on cyberspace, we now know that this is true with the introduction of the Google Nexus One, the first ever mobile phone exclusively sold by Google set released on January 5, 2010. Just to clarify this smart phone is not manufactured by Google; its manufactured by HTC, which is well-respected in the mobile phone industry. In fact, this information is clearly stated in the Nexus One Terms of Service to ensure that buyers are fully aware that the phone is not manufactured by Google. There are several websites with photos and videos of this phone, which gives us an idea of what it looks like and how it works. What the Nexus One Looks Like The Nexus One is slimmer than both the Apple iPhone and the HTC myTouch. Leaked photos of the Nexus One have so far shown that the phone comes in at least two colors brown and grey. This smart phone comes with a 3.7 inch touch screen display that boasts of 480 x 800 resolution. Although there is no official statement as to the dimensions, it appears that the Nexus One is more or less the same size as the iPhone, except for the Nexus One being a bit slimmer. The design actually looks very simple and stylish, featuring only four buttons across the bottom of the phone along with the volume rocker on the side. This is to give it a classic, sophisticated appearance that is sure to be a hit among mobile phone users. How the Nexus One Works The Nexus One comes with the Android 2.0.1 operating system, except that it has a more three-dimensional look to the application tray. There is also a lot more variety when it comes to the home screens. You will find an icon at the bottom that would show you all the available home screen pages, similar to what you would find on Palms webOS or on a Macs Expose. It comes with integrated Wi-Fi, which is the norm for smart phones these days. The Nexus One boasts of a Snapdragon CPU with 1 GHz capacity. Upon checking, it appears that the Nexus One has 512MB RAM and another 512 MB ROM. It also comes with a 4GB microSD card which is expandable up to 32 GB. It has a proximity sensor, a light sensor and accelerometer, along with a decent 5 megapixel camera that comes with LED flash.
