Nowadays even a small petty shop has their own website and in such way web technology has improved to greater heights. A website is a collection of related web pages, images, videos or other digital assets that are addressed relative to a common Uniform Resource Locator (URL), often consisting of only the domain name, or the IP address, and the root path (/') in an Internet Protocol-based network. A web site is hosted on at least one web server, accessible via a network such as the Internet or a private local area network.

Creating a website depends upon the individual. Currently there are many technologies which are used to design a live website. Normally there are two types of websites created. Static and dynamic are those two types. By seeing the site ,we can easily find out the pattern.

There are many static websites on the Internet, we cant judge it immediately, but the chances are, if the site looks basic and is for a smaller company, and simply delivers information without any bells and whistles, it could be a static website. Static websites can only really be updated by someone with a knowledge of website development. Static websites are the cheapest to develop and host, and many smaller companies still use these to get a web presence.

A static site is one that is written in HTML only. Each page is a separate document and there is no database that it draws on. What this means functionally is that the only way to edit the site is to go into each page and edit the HTML . So finally either we have to do it our self using a web page editor like Front Page or pay us to go in and edit the site each time when we want something to be changed.

Dynamic sites on the other hand can be more expensive to develop initially, but the advantages are numerous. At a basic level, a dynamic website can give the website owner the ability to simply update and add new content to the site. Dynamic features of a site are only limited by imagination. They cost more to develop, as they require more complex coding and a content management utility needs to be developed to help you manage your website information.

For example, news and events could be posted to the site through a simple browser interface.

Many sites from the last decade are static, but more and more people are realizing the advantages of having a dynamic website. Dynamic websites can make the most of your site and either use it as a tool or create a professional, interesting experience for your visitors. Most of the business organizations use dynamic pages,because when sites start to get very large, as they make data management much more efficient and your site more expandable.
