My Experience Of Taking Lasik Eye Surgery

It was a sunny day, just as sunny as other sunny days. But in this sunny day, a great change would take place in my life. What great change? I would take the Lasik eye surgery, with which I would get rid of glasses from that time on. You can imagine how excited I was, but still with a little worry, though I know Lasik eye surgery is not painful and has high rate of success. Before taking the surgery, I bought a pair of sunglasses to cover most of my eyes, including the sides to combat the strong sunshine.

After I arrived at the hospital, the assistant nurse asked me to put on the scrub. That is because they must make sure I will not bring inflection to the surgery room and also to my eyes. While lying on the bed, the doctor dropped anesthetics drops into my eyes. I was not allowed to open my eyes, but to wait.

Several minutes later, when the doctor was ready, the nurse helped me to walk into another room. Then I was allowed to open my eyes. There is the place where Lasik surgery machine is. But I was scared as the machine seems too heavy, maybe more than one ton. Lying under this massive machine, oh, it is a little terrible. But I have to do it. What is the worse, after lying under the machine, the machine moved closer to my face. At that time, I was full of fears. When everything was ready, the doctor dropped few anesthetics again. And after several minutes, they dropped again.

I was not able to see clearly, but only can use the corner of my eyes to see. I got a blurred image of a device looking like scissors. Then they used a clip to keep my eyes widely open for the whole operation. You can imagine what kind of feeling it was. After several minutes, my fear dispersed little by little. Then they placed a suction unit on my eye with the aim to keep it in place for the lasers work. A few minutes later, suddenly there was a loud noise from the machine, while the laser beamed into my eyes in a minute. Great! Now the other eye. I was so excited to hear that.

Several minutes later, the Lasik surgery on the other eye was finished. Then I was led out of the surgery room with cotton patches on the eyes. Maybe my feeling is too exaggerated, but it is my true feeling. And this doesnt mean I dont like the surgery. I just want to describe my true feelings at that time. I believe most people will have the same feeling as me: a very complicated feeling, excitement together with fear. Do you know how long the surgery takes? You may not believe it. Just 20 minutesBut thanks to these 20 minutes!

My life will change a lot!
