There are five levels of Cisco Certification which include the following: Entry, Associate, Professional, Expert, and Architect. And there are several distinct paths to acquire certification.

All Cisco Certification starts at the entry level point. Entry level certification usually covers basic networking knowledge, installation, management, troubleshooting a small network, basic network security.

At the professional level acquiring Cisco Certification validates that the candidate has acquired the necessary knowledge and abilities to install, configure, and troubleshoot converged, wide, and local area networks containing approximately 100 to 500 or more end devices. The applicant must first acquire a CCNA Certificate before they can obtain a CCNP level certification.

The Expert level is next. And covers advanced principles of design. And the individual must show the ability to develop solutions to address everything from planning to design.

There is also another level, the Architect level. This certification level was created to acknowledge architectural skills of network designers.

The first step to acquiring training is to find accredited institutions that teach Cisco Training. There are many college level institutions across the nation that teach these CCNA Training. And training can also be acquired at a Cisco Learning Partners or a Cisco Network. There are also many websites on the Internet that claim to offer the training required to obtain Cisco Certification. And there are also websites that offer links to programs that offer Cisco Certification.
