Plastic granulators could be regarded as a simple grinding machine. The only difference being that these granulators are used for breaking down the plastic products. This process is critical in order to recycle the plastic products all around us. We all know that plastic is a non-biodegradable material. We must recycle it. It has penetrated our lives and has become a part and parcel of our daily activities. There are many survey reports that claim that plastic today represents more than 40% of the total solid waste that is tossed by residents of various communities. This is in turn consumed by animals that choke to death or they even spoil the fertility of the soil. Thus, the only option left for us is to recycle all disposed plastic. Various sections of a plastic granulator A plastic granulator consists of an electric motor, a rotor, a chamber, a screen and some blades. The electric motor rotates the rotor. The cutting blades are in turn attached to the rotor. The plastic granulator acts as a large shredder in which when a plastic material is kept it could be broken down to pieces. The plastic material to be shredded is placed inside the chamber of the plastic granulator. The rotating blades shred it into smaller granules. Theses granules are later sold off to molders and manufacturers of various plastic products. These granules act as recycled raw materials. New items could be easily made out of this processed recycled plastic. It is advised to follow the precautions that are provided by the manufacturer. Any plastic granulator no matter how small may prove to be dangerous since it rotates at a very high speed. A plastic granulator is rated by the rounds per hour. This means how much a granulator can shred in one hour. Maintaining the plastic granulator The granulator needs to be kept clean in order to get the granules of desirable small size. The blades of the granulator must be oiled properly at regular intervals. The screen should be properly cleaned too.
