Introduction
Welcome to part one of Make and Self Hosting a Website.
First of this guide was written to explain how I made the Digital Studio website so the guides will talk about the tools and the ways that I made the Digital Studio website and self host it.
So you want to have a website that you want to make by your self and not form a template but you are think that this is going to be some huge under taking. Well it is not, I thought the same thing but once I got into it I found out that is not that bad and is really easy and not that hard. Also it is starting to become really popular to make your own websites.
So you probably think OK so it is easy but what about the price of doing this is it going to cost me a crazy amount of money. Make your own website is not that expensive. The one thing that is costing me a fair bit of money is paying to have a static ip address but that is only 20 dollars a year. So not making your own website is not going to cost a lot of money.
So what do you need to make your own site? I use Microsoft's Visual Web Developer because I find it easy to use and it let me use ASP.NET which is Asp plus the .Net frame work which I think is very cool. It is up too but as I have said before that these guides will be about how I made the Digital Studio website so I will take about the tools that I used.
