More of us are entrepreneurs than we think. In fact, go back a few generations and you'll find entrepreneurial blood in your family tree. At one time, multitudes were farmers. Maybe you have a few farmers in your family, or in your family history. They were all entrepreneurs.
More and more of well suited, hardworking individuals are looking into starting a business of their own.
Fact is, most people are sick of being under someone's thumb. There are some people who like the dependability of a job. But most people wouldn't have a problem with never having to work for anyone else ever again.
From time to time I've run into people who have that dream, there's only 15-20% of them in North America. It's that dream of getting out of under someone's thumb, to get in control their family's futures, call their own shots and run their show. It's the dream of doing what you love every day and never having to work for anyone else ever again. Do you know anyone like that? Do I know anyone like that? Hell yeah! This dream suits a lot of people. The problem is though, most people will never go after it long enough to capture it. But I believe, when most of the population is presented with alegitopportunity to change their lives, they'll take it. Most people have just never found it, they look for it in a better job or more schooling. Some find it. Few ever do.
Ever since I can remember I've always had big dreams of making it big and for some odd reason, I've never let go of these dreams. Because I've seen what happens to people who lose their dreams to mediocrity.
Entrepreneurshipis where it's at for most who still have that dream, and if they don't have the dream, it allows them to dream for a moment. The word entrepreneur is magical in a way, when it's used it conjures up images of adventure, excitement and living the dream. These are just pipe dreams at a job.
Entrepreneurship is a New Money word. It's for the common man, who wants toachieveuncommon success. The common man is sick of being pounded at their job. When one isenlightenby the power of enterprise, it's very hard to approach your job the same way you used to. When your mind has been stretched, it's nearly impossible toshrinkit back. Up front, few people's minds are stretched. Until they get laid off, or just cant stand their bosses bullshit anymore. More and more are starting to "get it."
Our free enterprise system allows us to build a business and become financially free within 6-7 years. Some do it in 10-15 years, others do it in 3 years. It's always been about standing in front of that massive tidal wave called the Baby Boomers, the 90 million born between 1946 and 1964. Anyone who could predict what they wanted next 2-3 years ahead of time got mowed down time and time again just by sheer volume.
Another reason people are starting businesses is because they want more out of life. One of the top human needs is one of recognition and respect. Success breeds respect, it also breeds recognition. Success is attractive. Success causes you to be recognized by peers, old friends, and people who weren't yourfriendsbefore you "got made."
Do you ever get recognized at a job? What do you usually think when you're at the work place and a co-worker walks up to you, pats you on the back and says, "boss wants to see you." What's your first thought? "I'm going to get employee of the month I suppose." No, usually you're wracking your brain trying to remember what you screwed up and how bad you're going to get screwed by your boss when you meet him in his office. Is this any way to live? I think not.
The question many people are asking now days is, "am I going to let someone else be in control of my family's future?"
The age of theentrepreneuris here, the biggest entrepreneurial movement is coming.
