Setting The Rules In Inernet Marketing
Setting The Rules In Inernet Marketing

Hey there! How's it going, guys? I've got a post that I hope will get you newbies out there started on your road to financial freedom.

It's rule-setting. Just because you do your business online doesn't mean that you don't need some guidelines to go by. On the contrary, rules are even more important for businesses you run by yourself.

Before you get down to business of writing down your rules, you ought to know what your business principles are. Why do you want to run this kind of biz? What motivates you? Are you in this simply to make money (and this will mostly be the answer) or do you also want to improve lives with the product or service you offer? Do you want your business to stand for fair play, honesty and quality? You need to figure out your principles because these will be the backbone of your rules.

Now, on to the rules. What rules should you set? And how many rules do you need?

The type of rules you set should be determined by the kind of business you're engaged in and the kind of personality you have. However, it would help if you have something on your work schedules, your goals and the data you seek to work with. Having rules on these general categories should work well whether you work on your own or have employees under you. As to the number, you don't need a lot. How so?

You need to live by those rules. You have to consistently impose those rules on yourself and on those around you on a day-to-day basis. If you have specific rules to govern a certain aspect of your business, you're going to be hard-pressed to track them all. Heck, if you have a long list of policies, you're going to stand as much chance of ignoring them as you do forgetting them.

So make rules only for the most important aspects of your biz and stick by them. This way, they become part and parcel of how you run your business.

By the way, if a rule becomes obsolete, then you've also got to have the good sense to remove them or replace them with something that's in keeping with the times.
