Healthy hair comes from well balanced diet and healthy lifestyle. It is necessary to eat the right kind of foods in order to keep your hair healthy. Vitamins are one of the most important factors required. For hair healthy growth, consume the vital vitamins in the right quantity.

Vitamin A is available in most of the fruits and vegetables. It has a big role in producing sebum. Sebum is what which gives moisture to your hair and scalp. Without it the scalp and hair tend to be dry, which results in the occurrence of dandruff.

Care should be taken to prevent over dosage of Vitamin A. Over production of sebum can cause the blockage of hair follicles which results in increased hair loss. As long as you get Vitamin A from natural food sources, you don't have to get concerned of overdosing. Some important sources of Vitamin A are Mango, Carrots, Sweet potato, Oranges etc

Vitamin B plays an important role in keeping hair healthy. Along with hemoglobin they provide the scalp with adequate oxygen needed to keep it healthy. Vitamin B-6 and Folic acid are the main B vitamins.

Protein rich foods are good sources of Vitamin B-6. They provide the vitamin needed as well as the protein required for strong hair. Some sources of vitamin B-6 are Bananas, Chicken Breast, Cereals, beans, Oatmeal etc whereas papaya, boiled asparagus, frozen peas etc are the sources of Folic Acid.

Vitamin C plays an important part in strengthening hair by the production of collagen. It is available in most of the fruits available in the market. Lemons, Oranges, Guava, kiwi fruit etc are the storehouses of Vitamin C

Vitamin E is also a vital for the proper circulation of blood to the scalp. It increases the oxygen absorption capability. Almonds, Corn Oil, Turnip greens, Ready made Cereals etc are good sources of this vitamin.

Someone has Vitamin E deficiency due to the inability to absorb fats and oils. In this condition, taking a Vitamin E supplement is suggested.
