Prevention Is Always Better: Internet Marketing Tips!

Hi everyone! I hope life's as swell you want it to be.

We're human. We are prone to commit mistakes. Hell, I'm willing to bet that there's no week that passes by that either you or any member of your team has committed at least a minor mistake. Whether it be errors in the business or wrong turns in our lives, the cold hard truth remains: No one is perfect.

But there are blunders in our online business that can be costly. And it is these that we should avoid whenever we possibly can. Technology may have made it easy for us to automate marketing strategies like our emails, but it has also become too easy to reach a greater number of people with our mistakes.

The old adage "prevention is better than cure" surely applies here. It's better to set up a system that prevents you or your team from committing mistakes than it is to repair mistakes that have already been done.

Take emails that you've sent, for example. When a date for a webinar has been wrongly set or the price of a certain item has been wrongly quoted, that's some shitload of misinformation that's going to affect your reputation and your sales. When a free ebook or video you've promised fails to download after they've signed up, you know you've got some serious crap going on.

So what do you do to prevent these costly mishaps?

First off, get someone else other than your email team to check your copy and click on the links. Someone on the outside who hasn't seen the email yet would do a more thorough job of checking for errors than one who has been crafting it from the very beginning. If you're running your whole operations by yourself, you can ask your mom or your girlfriend to do it for you. The point is, have someone read your copy and test your links.

Closely related to the first one is that of sending out the entire email to different accounts. You've got to have test accounts for Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, etc. This is important because certain forms might not display properly or won't load at all for some email domains.

These are the top two things you must never fail to do so you can prevent any unnecessary blunders. And what if, in spite of these checks, you still realize that something got missed out in the process?

If it's too big a mistake to ignore, then it's best to send out a correction email. It would also be a good idea to have an offer ready for them to make-up for the inconvenience.

Where our online business is concerned, prevention is always better than cure. Always.
