The December breeze is really nipping my nose! Time to get physical, do a little stretching to get the blood up and running. It's another promising day, guys! So get up and make more dough!
While you're getting physical, let's get personal as well. Nope, not in the cheesy, cheap-pick-up-line sort of way. That almost never works in getting you the girl, and it surely won't work in convincing others to buy from you.
When I mean getting personal, I mean delivering emails and creating ads that are so tailored to fit the profiles of your clients. Needless to say, this comes after doing much research on your subject. I've said this before, and I'll say it again: Put yourself in the shoes of your clients. Get to know them by frequenting the sites they hang out in. Know their thoughts on blogs and forums. Do surveys. Time you use in getting to know your target is time well-spent. It's much easier to sell to those people you know like the palm of your hand than it is to strangers. Trust me.
Now that you've gotten to know them freakin' well, it's time to get personal. Make your ads talk to them. If you're selling acne medication specifically for young men, perhaps you can have an image of a depressed youngster with zits all over his face together with this killer-line: "I know how difficult it is to approach girls looking like this." Bam! Emotional impact! That will get you the clicks.
For your emails, you can start by addressing targets with their first name. This is simple, but extremely powerful. Oh, and make sure you test your emails by sending them to you first. You don't want to send this: {First Name} here's a medical breakthrough that's guaranteed to make you acne-free in three days! Make sure that you really have their first name on the email that they'll receive.
But more importantly, you should personalize your content. Make sure that what you've written in your email speaks to them, addresses their concerns and gives the solution they're looking for. That's why it's worth your damn time to research and get to know your target audience.
Personalize. Customers will find you hard to resist.
