Internet Marketing The Active List
Internet Marketing The Active List

Hey there! Here's a Paul Lawrence quote that got me fueled up and ready for my day: "Life is short, and you don't want to let it pass you by. So Think Big and make your dreams come true." I hope you're all-geared up for the huge impact you can give to the world today!

Now there's been a lot of hoopla around customer lists. Some say the longer it is, the better. I don't have problems with that. Obviously, the more prospects you have, the more chances you also have of increasing your sales. Growing your list is f***ing easy and cheap, too!

But there's just one tiny bit of a problem here: Far too many marketers, especially those new in the biz, make the huge mistake of focusing only on lengthening their lists. They give the same amount of time, energy and expense to everyone there. They don't take the time to categorize these into the active and inactive ones. The active ones are those who are already in the mindset of buying your product. They are the interested ones, those who are most ready to part with their credit card information with just the right nudge from you.

Sure, there's nothing wrong with going through the whole nine yards to add emails to your existing customer base. But you've got to put more emphasis on those your "active file." Get as much information as you can about the people heredemographics, likes, dislikes, online behaviorso you can tailor your marketing program specifically for them. Take note that they're already motivated to buy from you as opposed to those who merely read your emails because they have nothing else better to do. Those on your active list are already convinced. They only need that one little shove to get them over the edge and take your offer.

Make your email offers relevant to those in your active list. Make sure that any and all promises you make, guarantees you offer and freebies and discounts you have during the sign-up are immediately given. And while you might think potential customers might appreciate it if you pre-check the sign-up boxes for them, you're dead wrong. So don't make this mistake. Deliver personalized and targeted info to your audience. You can also test which offers better conversion by sending out different formats, headings and email content to your active list. Always have follow-up campaigns in case they don't open emails the first time you sent them.

Your active list is important to your bottomline. You've got to work on them much more than you would in increasing the names on your list.
