Everyone makes mistakes in their life. It is part of human nature. When it comes to your website, however, mistakes are something that can cost you big time. When designing your website, there are a few key mistakes that many people make, but can avoid. Here are some of those common mistakes:
No Website Point A lot of people forget that there is a point they have a website. Be sure that within seconds of visiting your site, a consumer will know just what site they are visiting and what you are selling.
Too Much Content Though it is important to ensure customers know what you are selling within seconds of visiting your site, your content should be short and to the point. Customers are in a hurry; therefore they do not have the time to sit and read a novel about what your products and services offer.
Fancy or Tiny Fonts Though it can be tempting to use tiny or fancy fonts, try to refrain from this. Not everyone's internet browser or computer is made the same. Therefore fonts that show up on your screen perfectly may not appear the same on a customer's screen. Tiny fonts can be difficult for people to read or make out special characters as well.
Registrations Even if it is easier to track your customers by simply having them register, try to refrain from this. Allow customers the ability to read blogs and content without registering their personal information. If for some reason they must register their information, then keep it brief request things like their name and email address and leave it at that.
Your Contact Info A lot of websites out there are missing one key piece of information contact information. Never forget to have a way for your customers or potential customers to contact you. This can be your phone number, email address or even a mailing address as long as there is some form of contact information.
