How do you know if your steering system is correct? Here is how. You start by taking a long thin bar. Then you weld the piece that controls the steering arms when you attach the steering arms to the front axle and make sure its actuality the right turning ratio. Then get a old racing steering wheel and install it. The next important thing is the braking system you want to make sure that the brakes you got for it will even stop it. Here is another example; your driving your go kart on a back trail next to the lake and suddenly a sharp turn comes up and you can not stop what do you do?
Then you want to make sure the components are right like the starter. How are you gonna start or shut off your cart? You can put a battery and a key switch on it as this will help a lot. After you get everything in order then you can take it out for a test run just to see how fast it goes. You will then want to see if the breaks stop you at a high speed and if it does then take it out and have fun with it.
