Great Plains Accounting for DOS is probably not cool, but very reliable

GPA was a predecessor of such now popular Corporate ERP application as Microsoft Dynamics GP, also formerly known as Great Plains Dynamics. The dominance of Dynamics GP is pretty obvious and if you are still on Great Plains Accounting for DOS, Windows or Mac we encourage you to migrate to GP (current version is 2010)

1. From the functionality and user interface, we believe that GPA was architectured by the same school of Corporate ERP designers, so even the graphical interface is a bit more advanced, your GPA users should be able to recognize the new interface

2. Why at all should we upgrade from GPA to Dynamics GP? Well, GPA is well designed and reliable Corporate ERP platform, however it was abandoned for technical support in earlier 2000th and if you are planning to migrate your IT infrastructure to 64 bit Windows Server GPA is not compatible. Also consider incompatibility with Microsoft Office stack, Sharepoint, MS SQL Server

3. If you have to commit to Great Plains Accounting for DOS. This is your decision and we are here to support you. If you are still on Novell or WindowsNT platform and Btrieve we recommend you to migrate you GPA Server to Windows 2003 or 2007 (Small Business Server is fine) 32 bit edition

4. GPA Data repair. It is a bit difficult, however possible via Microsoft Access ODBC linked tables
