I'm pretty tech savvy and have used completely different GPS devices within the past. I selected Tomtom over Garmin mainly because of tomtom HOME support, higher user interface: tomtom has additional data on the screen together with the road name you are driving on.
Most negative reviews here are from problems updating map that is larger than the recent one (about five Mb larger) and causes error.
