For those special occasions
For those special occasions

It was a joyous occasion when our twins graduated with honors last year. Jennifer and Ben both went to the same university but decided to pursue different majors; Jen went down the science route and Ben down the arts.

We've always been proud of our children and felt we had to mirror our love and admiration the best way we knew how. My wife and I both met at university and were both given watches from our parents during our graduation ceremonies. For us it was symbolic of

our children's wise use of their time and the exciting time in their lives they are about to enter.

It was something we didn't take lightly and spent some time researching before we settled on the right one for Jen and Ben. For Jennifer, my wife was adamant it was one that she could wear during the day and as part of her ornaments when she went out at night. We toyed between The Guess Watches and the Seksy Watches. This was more because we knew Jen had hinted at them before!

The Guess Watches were brilliantly unique coming in a variety of high fashion designs. However my wife thought the Seksy watches would be better suited for our daughter's more demure tastes. We went with a watch that doubled up as a bracelet if she so wished. A lovely black Mother of Pearl encased in stainless steel with three crystal stones. Simple, elegant and stylish just like our Jen.

Ben would be a bit more difficult. In his own words, he is quite eccentric. The more flamboyant of the two; he would be looking for something stylish yet practical - similar to that of a sports watch.

We knew he'd like our choice of a Rotary Watch over the Citizen watch that we'd originally planned on. The Rotary watches we felt were more unique and much more reflective of Ben. We settled for a classic Rotary men's skeleton watch with a contemporary twist.

My wife and I will never forget that summer over dinner when we presented the twins with their watches. Just as the barman called "Time."

Conclusion

Our children have only given us cause to be fulfilled in our lives and as parents we knew that this symbolic and touching gesture of a gift was the only way to best express how timeless our affections are towards them.
