Sometimes the best place to picnic is in your own backyard. Picnicking is a tradition throughout the summer across all walks and in all cities but we often forget about how fun and relaxing it can be in our own backyards. The big advantage here is no one has to pack the car and gather up the kids and it can be as spontaneous or planned out as you like. Here are a few tips to remember, though, to make it complete.
Grab a blanket. The absolute best blankets are specifically designed for picnicking and offer a nice cushy side to sit on and an opposite side with a waterproof barrier to keep you dry. These are especially great for twilight picnics where star watching is at a premium and the grass gets dewy.
A Basket is a must. It just isreally. And, yes, even in your own backyard. Why? Because nothing says picnic like a basket, plus, it's a lot easier to carry picnic fare to and from the house in a basket. Today's picnic baskets come loaded with cutlery, plates, wine glasses, salt and pepper shakers, napkins, cutting boards, etc. So, they simply make the whole idea of a picnic more glamorous and fun. Baskets are sort of the one-stop-shop of picnicking where all the needed essentials are taken care of which means less worry for you.
