Do Whatever He Tells You To Do - Part 2
Do Whatever He Tells You To Do - Part 2

The Bible tells us about the story of an Army commander, named Naaman, from Aram. " was a great man in the sight of his master and heavily regarded, because through him, the Lord had given victory to Aram. He was a valiant soldier, but he had leprosy". 2 Kings 5:1. A captive girl from Israel informed Naaman, through his wife, that if he could go and see Prophet Elisha in Samaria, he would be healed of his leprosy.

Naaman took the plunge and wasted no time in going to see the prophet. In all Naaman's authority and glory, he knocked on the door, expecting the prophet to bow at his feet. The prophet did not even bother to open the door. Instead "Elisha sent a messenger to say to him, "Go, wash yourself seven times in the Jordan and your flesh will be restored and you will be cleansed" 2Kings 5:10. Naaman heard Elisha's message and he threw a fit.

He went away angry and thought that the prophet "would surely come to me and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, wave his hand over the spot and cure me of my leprosy. 2Kings 5:11. God's instructions to Naaman, through Elisha, were crystal clear; they were not up for debate. But Naaman wanted to change the plan; to do God's will his way. He thought that the river Jordan was too dirty for him to wash in.

So he went away, angry, and not happy with the prophet. "Naaman's servants went to him and said, "My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more then when he tells you, "wash and be cleansed!" So he went and dipped himself into the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored and became like that of a young boy" 2Kings 5:13-14

YOU SHALL HAVE A TESTIMONY AFTER "THE DOING"

A testimony always follows when you do whatever God tells to do. He can never lead you astray, because He is the El-Shaddai, the Almighty God. At the wedding in Cana, (as stated in Part 1) the servants had a testimony when they obeyed Jesus. They did not question Him when He told them to fill the jars with water.

Finally, Naaman had a testimony when he agreed to obey God's instructions, at last, through Prophet Elisha."He was fully cleansed of his leprosy and went home, saying,"Now I know that there is no God, in all the world, except Israel". 2Kings 5:15b. It is a great act of faith when you do whatever God tells you, because without faith, it is impossible to please God. Child of God, I encourage you to be in God's will at all times, obey His instructions and you will be blessed beyond measure. Amen

PRAYER OF SALVATION

If you have not already committed your life to Jesus and you would like to do so now, please pray this prayer:

"Lord Jesus, I am sorry for all the things I have done wrong. Thank you for dying for me on the cross, to set me free from my sins. I ask you to come into my life as my personal Lord and Saviour, and fill me with the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord Jesus. Amen."

Congratulations, if you have prayed this prayer, please look for a Bible-believing church, to fellowship with the brethren. Please do not hesitate to contact me, if I can be of any assistance to you. Remain blessed and enjoy the presence of the Lord.
