To get 2 drums of product from Jerry at Omega chemicals from the Chicago area down here to Corpus Christi, Texas (2.5 hours north of the Mexico border) it will be at $189.00 shipped through R&L Carriers. That is a great price!
I cannot get a drum of anything shipped from a large city here in Texas to me for that price or less and here it is 2 drums coming all the way from Chicago.
I got Jerry's sample pallet and the shipping from Chicago was about $125.00 (probably their minimum or very close to a minimum freight charge from that area) so he is right about the large discount through R&L Carriers.
In case you guys did not know, the SAFE-T-BRITE is the product that is safe for polished aluminum and glass and it is a great cleaner. I will be trying to cut it next week to see how many times it can be cut for the vehicles I use. So for a 55 gallon drum it would be: $5.65 x 55 = $ 310.75 plus freight.
The AB-55 BRIGHTENER is the stronger acid for those very tough jobs and it does have a lot of the the acid in it but I would not use it around glass or polished aluminum. So for a 55 gallon drum it would be: $6.75 x 55 = $ 371.25 plus freight.
The Pro White Powder is also a good 2nd step and some of Jerry's customers use less than a pound per gallon for some of their mixes. One guy uses about 15 pounds and makes a 55 gallon drum for 2-stepping.
When you do the math, that comes out to: $1.42 x 15 = $ 21.30 for a drum of 2nd step soap. You do have to purchase the 400 pound drum but look how long it lasts.
Even if you used a pound per gallon, that is still about $ 1.42 x 55 = $ 78.10 and you could make 7.2 drums out of that drum of powder but most of the guys that I have talked to don't use it as strong as 1 pound per gallon.
Guys, let's not run-off Jerry or aggravate him so much that he leaves as he has a lot of great knowledge and is wanting to help out.
I know he is a chemical salesman but the difference is that his stuff works where most of the salesmen out there are selling garbage and you get burned with most purchases. I also have been burned by a lot of salesmen and even a well-known distributor that sells a lot of chemicals (not mentioning names here) and equipment.
Once you find a great product you want to just stay with that product and enjoy the benefits of that great product but for a lot of guys that are getting sold junk, new to the business and don't know who to believe or don't want to blend chemicals, there are some good vendors on this site and Jerry is one of them.
I have used his stuff on these 10 week rotation trash trucks and it does a great job on the aluminum so I will be cutting it to see if I can get the product to go further when I am downstreaming under pressure at 20:1 with my new system.
