Over the last few years that I've been self-employed, running my own affiliate marketing business from home, I've come across a lot of products geared towards the "make money online" market and quite frankly I'm appaled at what's been released to the general public!
All these so called "guru's" are not only giving out half-baked information, they sometimes leave out the core principals to really being able to make money online while working from home and quite honestly I'm tired of it and thus, if no one else is going to come forward and start correcting these idiots, with their hyped-up, over-priced products, then I'll do it and in doing so, feel alot better and actually take pride in the fact that my business is based around affiliate marketing!
Myth #1: There's a 'secret method' to making money online and only if you buy "X" product, will you actually learn what it is, and how to apply it to your business and profit from it!
Fact: There is NO SECRET METHOD to making money with affiliate marketer and if there was, who in their right mind would sell that 'secret method' to anyone for any price?
Think about it, if you ran a successful home business and through nothing but trial and error, found a way to increase the traffic to your website, convert tire-kickers into buyers and were able to make a ton of money, day after day, month after month, would you then turn around and sell that very 'method' for any price, let alone the mere $37 to $197 some of these guru's are asking for their programs?
HELL NO you wouldn't and neither would I or anyone else in their right mind for that matter!
Being in a position to make money online through affiliate marketing is all about following a system that's been proven to work since the dawn of the internet and merely duplicating that system in your own business! And the process is so dead-simple that anyone can do it but for those who try and fail, it's only because they were expecting something more 'technical' and when they found it the process was so easy to follow, their brains couldn't handle the simplicity of it all and went about their business to find something that was more 'technical' and got involved with that and this is why there's so many horror stories about affiliate marketing floating around the internet today!
Myth #2: You Need To Have Your Own Website In Order To Make Money From Affiliate Marketing
Fact: Having your own website doesn't hurt you, but it's NOT a fundamental requirement, much like having a driver's license is a requirement for legally driving a car on any road! There are so many FREE RESOURCES online that any would be affiliate marketer can use in order to promote their business that needing a website in the beginning isn't necessary!
Myth #3: There's Only One Way To Make Money Through Affiliate Marketing!
Fact: If you ever read that on any website, I want you instantly close your browser out and RUN, because that's an out-right LIE! While it's true that there are only a finite number of ways in making money through affiliate marketing, it certainly isn't tied to just ONE METHOD! There's article marketing, email marketing, joint-ventures with other marketers, there's product creation, Pay-Per-Click, Cost Per Action and the list goes on. So remember, affiliate marketing isn't just about one specific method that will make you money, but rather out of all the options, it's the one that works for you!
