Cardiovascular Disease Review

Cardiologists are medical experts who treat patients with cardiac disorder or vascular system. The general treatment of cardiovascular disease conducted by such medical experts focus on the area affected by cardiovascular disease such as coronary artery, heart malfunction, problem in heart valve, and genetic disorder including the defective birth. Most of the treatment of cardiovascular disease involves non-surgical medical procedure. Cardiovascular disease is gaining widespread notoriety in all parts of the world. Despite presence of medial solutions, the disease has consumed innumerable lives in all parts of the world. There are different types of cardiovascular disease such as mentioned in the following lines.

Coronary heart disease (CHD) in medical definition refers to the situation in which the arteries become narrowed or blocked. This consequently affects transportation of blood, oxygen and other life sustaining elements to the heart. Absence of such fundamental elements to the heart substantially causes detrimental disease like heart stroke. According to a medical data released by Center for Disease Control, coronary heart disease is the sole responsible for one third death tolls off all sorts of cardiovascular disorder mostly characterized by heart stroke/attack. This type of disease doesn't become of serious nature until there may occur considerable blockage in one of the arteries of the body.

Congestive heart failure (CHF) is not known by many as the potential heart disease that could even claim life if unattended. During the onset of disease, the heart becomes weaker and is not strong enough to pump adequate supply that is required by body. Some of the prime causes associated with congestive heart failure are heart attack, infections, hemochromatosis (stiffening of muscles), high blood pressure and disorder such as hyperthyroidism (overproduction of thyroid hormones). During the onset of the disease, patients undergo some physical symptoms such as tiredness, clogging of chest, chronic cough, clotting of fluid in the ankles, feet, legs and belly, and gasping for breath.

Atherosclerosis is another form of cardiovascular disease which is also known as stiffening of the arteries. The main reason behind occurring atherosclerosis disorder is when the blood vessels fail to supply oxygenated blood to the heart. This kind of problem occurs when the blood vessels become blocked due to cholesterol deposits. This subsequently affects free flow of blood supply through the vessels. When the cholesterol deposits become accumulated, it becomes enlarged thereby creating a blockage to the blood circulation. Finally, the flow of blood to heart slows down causing depletion in life sustaining cells thereby causing immense damage to important organs like eyes, kidneys, brain, and gut. Since the blockage of arteries cause hindrance to supply of oxygenated blood to heart, it causes angina, which after prolonged persistence generates life threatening disease such as heart stroke/attack/ arrhythmia, and CHD.

Since any one of the condition of heart disease causes potential harm to body, it is vital to get your heart a medical attention from a cardiologist. The cardiologist will diagnose your symptoms in proper medical order. He/she will also advise you about dos and don'ts as long as you are in their medical observation. Heart is vital organ and so, you should give it a proper medical attention to keep it safe from all kinds of cardiovascular diseases.
