subject: Some Things To Remember When You Interview For Mba [print this page]

Getting into a top MBA program can be challenging but it is possible. One of the biggest challenges would be the interview for MBA but making through it is a great accomplishment. Now that you have an interview scheduled it is time to prepare to win them over. If you do not make a good impression then you might not get into the program.

Although you can find a lot of tips out there on how to ace it during the interview, some tips can just be easier said than done. However, taking time to check out these tips would still be helpful for your interview.

Before the interview, it would help a lot to monitor you stress. Stop doing the things that you find stressful leading up to the day of the interview. Do things you enjoy so that you will not feel stressed and very nervous. However, a little anxiety is still important to maintain your focus so it would help if you do not get too relaxed.

While you are making your preparations, it would help a lot to do practice interviews. You could do mock interviews with a friend. Practicing what you say can really help you get prepared. Another thing you could do is apply to other schools and get interviews with them just for practice. This way, you will be practicing actual MBA interviews and you will get used to it and when the interview for the MBA program that you really want comes around you will not be too nervous.

During your interview, be sure that you do not talk too much or too quickly. Interviewers can sense whether you are confident or not by the way you talk. You do not have to talk too much and there is no need for you to speed up as long as you know what you are talking about.

You should never try begging the interviewer and getting too emotional just to let you pass the interview because this will only give the interviewer another reason to reject you.

It is normal to feel enthusiastic with the results of the interview; however, in case you do not get accepted into the program, it does not mean that you should give up pursuing your dreams. It just might mean that there is another program out there for you. However, if you are fully prepared for the interview then you should have no problem getting accepted.
