In business there are a lot of things that people are always doing to try to come up with a way to make sure that their customers and other business remember. They want to stand out and be different than the norm so that they are remembered. It is all about being memorable. However, that is a lot easier said than done.

One of the ways in which people work hard to be different is in the business cards that they have. Some people try to be different by having a raised print business card. Other people have tried having a different size or shape of business card. Others yet have tried to be memorable by having a business card that was also a magnet.

The business cards that are magnets can have a long lasting impact because people tend to put those kinds of things on their fridge and once there it will likely not be moved for years. This is both good and bad. On the one hand, they are visible everyday to the homeowner. However, the danger is that the homes that the magnet makes it into may be ignored because the people who have them have trained themselves to look past it to find other things on the fridge that they want.

Some other business techniques that are used to help a business stand out may include TV commercials that are memorable. By doing this many people may recall a business. If you take a moment you may be able to think of some companies that you could name simply by the commercial. Some of the them that you may remember immediately are commercials like the Clydesdale horses for Budweiser, the Aflac duck for Aflac, the Hefty garbage bag commercials, the Old Spice commercials and many others. These commercials make a memorable impression on the mind and that is half of the battle for a business. If you think of these different brand names when you are considering buying that type of a product, then the commercial has done its job to help you remember the brand name at the time of purchase.

Businesses are constantly doing all that they can to make an impression and to stand out. It is the job of the marketing director to make sure that they get that done for a particular business. They work hard to do it, but some are better than others.
