Many people suffer from embarrassing situations due to excessive sweating. Such people may find it very difficult to be a part of a group or be involved in other group activities due to anxiety. So they may be looking out for different ways to stop this problem and feel free to do anything they wish.

Also known as hyperhidrosis, the condition may not be the same for every person. People sweat a lot due to different reasons. Some people sweat a lot when they are stressed out while other people sweat due to fear or anxiety. However, there are various methods which can be used to control this condition.

One of the most common methods is to use antiperspirants. Applying the antiperspirants will help you to control the amount of sweating to a certain extent. However, if you sweat excessively the product may not be useful at all. In the same way, it can work for some while it may not work for other people. Antiperspirants are actually designed to fight excessive sweating. There are different types of products available on the market. You have to try several of them to see which one works the best for you.

Some people do not experience sweating in their armpits. They sweat a lot in other places like their feet, hands, back and chest. These people will not be able to use the antiperspirants for controlling their sweat. They can make use of some oral medications which help them to prevent sweating. These medications are known as anticholinergics which are specially used by people who sweat a lot on their hands. One of the popular products is Robinul. These products are known to have certain side effects like dry mouth and blurred vision. So they are actually not used a lot for this problem.

Another possible treatment for excessive sweating is botox injections which are usually used for cosmetic surgery. Botox is used to close the sweat pores and thus stop sweating. The injections are not a pleasant method of controlling your sweating because you may need to have at least 20 injections in your armpits for effective results. And the treatment should be repeated after every four months. These injections are painful and will require you to take pain killers.

There are some natural remedies also which help you to control perspiration. One simple method is to use a mixture of baking soda and cornstarch. Apply the mixture for about 25 minutes and wash it away. Baking soda absorbs excess moisture and there will be no armpit circles formed on your clothes. If required you can add essential oils to the mixture to act as a deodorizer.
