subject: A Business Proposal: Techniques For Creating An Effective Proposal [print this page]

A business proposal is a mirror of your organization. It introduces the business of an enterprise to a prospective client. The offer letter is used as a means to promote a corporation and encourage a customer or a client to accept the offer made in the letter. One of the main purposes of writing an offer letter is to meet the requirements of a target customer.

There are two types of offer letter used in the field of business. One is called solicited proposal and the other is known as unsolicited proposal. The solicited offer letter is easy to write as a client sends his requirements to a marketer. In this situation, a marketer knows the requirements of a client which provides him with the blueprint of the critical points to cover. However, in case of an unsolicited business proposal a writer does not know the needs and requirements of a letter or a proposal. For this purpose, a marketer should conduct research on the target customers. You should analyze the needs and problems faced by the potential customers of an organization. Conducting a research on your prospective clients gives you a clear idea of a prospective customer. A writer can write and prepare an offer letter in such a manner that can convince a customer towards an organization. In other words, you can write from a customers perspective. Highlight the needs and problems of the customer. You can also mention the root causes of their problems. This helps develop a marketer in establishing a good and clear understanding between the reader and writer. It makes a reader feel that an author can understand the mind and needs of a prospective customer. A marketer can highlight the unique features of the products or services of an organization. You should conduct the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats of your organization. This helps you in analyzing and measuring the value proposition and you can refine it. You can present your strengths and also uncover the challenges that you are facing. This will give an honest and true picture to your client. In this way, a marketer can win the confidence of the client and elicit a response.
