subject: Real Estate Investor Marketing Tips: Discover The Power Of Postcards And How To Use Usps [print this page]

Once you're on the USPS dot com page you would click on the postcard section. Once you get there they give you two options.

There are the small postcards that are 4 b6 inches and larger postcards which are 5 by 8 inches. Click on the one you want. Let's say we do small. Then you would click on the small postcard icon and what pops up is what looks like a postcard. It's got some text in there that is pre-populated from this site.

Creating Text

What we'll be doing is removing their text and put in your text. You would cut out all the text that they give you and you can either manually type in new text or if you wanted to you would take the text from my card and copy and paste it in. That is the message, the body of the postcard.

When dealing with postcard templates be sure go through and change the phone number, email address and the website to fit your needs.

Spend the time on this. The first time through it may take you some time to figure out the editing function. It's not bad, but it's not great. It's not like Word. It's a little bit rudimentary and you've got to spend some time and format your card to fit the best way you can.

You can have a card where you have pure text straight down. The cards I recommend create two columns of text and tend to look like a small newspaper article. I have used both in the past and find the two column approach looks better and tends to get a better resposnse.

Creating the Front

Once you've done the main message, you can click on it to go and do the front side of the postcard as we talked about. You can create a headline on the front part of the card. You would then be able to create some sort of headline on that little half of the card.

At that point you hit Next and you are sent to where you upload your list. You may already have a list. If you've done this before you would have a pre-populated list.

What you would do then is either do that or you would go out to your computer and you would upload the list. It may be one you have just purchased in a comma delimited format. All of those lists come up into the software.
