subject: The Truth About Abs - Discover The Truth About Ripped Abs And A Flat Stomach [print this page]

Maybe you've also watched the infomercials, tried the cardio routines and done the endless crunches to get ripped and lean, but have found that almost none of them work like you thought.

The truth about getting six pack abs does not lie within the idea of making your abdominal muscles bigger, but rather burning off the fat covering your abs in order to reveal the already present abdominals underneath. That's the big challenge that most people struggle with.

Having defined abs beneath the fat is obviously a good thing, but it will not pop-out before the fat is removed. So, if you are doing ab exercises trying to get ripped abs you might be wasting your time. Instead do workouts that focus on burning the fat covering them up!

One of the big truths about abs is that you need muscle in order to keep your metabolism high, and in order to do this you need to be building muscle mass through resistance training. Perform resistance training 3 times per week and build your program around heavy weights and compound movements.

The second thing that you need in order to get lean and ripped is a solid cardio program to burn off abdominal fat. This is best done with high intense interval training. My recommended program is performing this on non weight lifting days, and performing 30 seconds of hard work followed by 30 seconds of slow work such as jog or walk. Start slow, with about 6 rounds, then add one round per week until you are doing 16-20 minutes.

Last but not least, your nutrition plan. Try to eat as much natural and organic foods as possible. These foods include fruits, vegetables, lean meats, dairy and healthy fats. I try to eat as much foods as possible with only "one ingredient", orange, chicken breast, etc.

That's the success recipe for six pack abs... The only other factor is determination and time. Persist with this kind of a plan and you will see ripped abs sooner than you think!
