subject: Clean Happy Or Clean Unhappy [print this page] The person who says that they love to clean lies. If you are done with your work and come home tired, wouldn't you rather sit in front of the TV and rest? Wouldn't you prefer to play with your children without any stress of knowing that you have to hurry because you have cleaning to do? What about some time spent on reading a good and exciting book or going for a walk, without any worry about when you will clean?
Even if you do your cleaning, how much time will pass before you need to do it again? None, because everything gets dirty so fast and you need to clean every day. When you are done with dusting, you turn around and it seems like you need to do it again, right away. Do you find yourself yelling on your kids, not to play like this and like that, because they get dirty and all that means more cleaning and washing for you?
It is annoying but it is part of the life and we shouldn't complain. When we refuse to accept things, it makes it even harder to do it. Accepting things, all things and facts of life make it easier to cope with life. If you say every time to yourself that you hate to do it and you don't want to do it, you will make yourself miserable. If you are miserable, you will be unhappy every day because cleaning is every day job. But if you accept the fact that you must do it, you will do it in happier state. Why not to think about it as, "When I finish vacuuming I can do something that I want." You will feel much better because your thoughts will be focused on the activity afterward and not on the cleaning.
If you just change your way of thinking, everything is easier. You must wash the dishes. If you accept it, you can do it while you are happy and focused on something else that you will do later on, or you can be distressed and after a while of so much bad feelings inside of you, you will make yourself ill.
These are the only choices that we can make in life. Life is what it is and we cannot change it. What we can change is how much we will accept things and stop resisting something that is inevitable. This is not just in aspect of cleaning but also in everything else that we do. Happiness is a choice as well as unhappiness is.
