subject: Medical Resume Cover Letter - Don't Fall Behind The Competition [print this page]

A medical resume cover letter is key to explaining all the information on the medical resume. Medical resumes commonly have more than one job, at the present time and therefore many past jobs to account for. The cover letter allows an opportunity to break down all that information and make a statement with your experience. That's what I did with my resumes. I'm in the education field and it works much the same.

The over whelming amount of information on a medical resume can blend in with other applicants information, sounding repetitive. Not to mention blending you with the rest of the competition. A well written custom cover letter, can make the task of reading the resumes and cover letters easier, and gives you the opportunity to write something to remember in a sea of resumes and medical information.

The medical resume cover letter must have an easy to read format and key points where the applicant has excelled. What you want to avoid is making it as long as a resume. In the medical field, especially with a well experienced person, it's not as undesirable, to have a long resume or curriculum vita or CV as it's known.

Experience goes a long way in the medical field and having an accounting of it is great. Reading through it is what we need the interviewer to do. When I was writing my resumes and the occasional favor for a brother or sister, I found it important to learn as much as I could about the position. The cover letter helped me spike the reader enough to have them read over my long resume and secure an interview.

The medical resume cover letter is more detailed than your regular run of the mill cover letter. You do, after all have to show case all the knowledge and experience you have. A custom cover letter touching on your strengths and your desires to grow your skills in a company like the one you're applying for, hint, hint. Will get you noticed more often than a generic cover letter. Always remember to write a custom cover letter for each employer.
