subject: Growing An Internet Business [print this page]

A lot of Internet business owners go through these stages of running their Internet business: 1.) they chose a marvelous niche, 2.) they launch a flawless website, 3.) they employ some marketing campaign, and then 4.) they are stuck. They can't grow their Internet business. They may be an award-winning market strategist when working for another person in Wall Street, but they suck at growing an Internet business.

So what does it take to grow an Internet business?

The lifeblood of an Internet business or any business for that matter is marketing. If you don't know how to sell your product to your customer online, then you wouldn't realize a single penny profit no matter how helpful and effective your product or service is. The World Wide Web is vast so you can't enter it and chase people around to sell your product or service. There's just too much and too far of them to chase around. The best part about the Web, however, is you can let your customer come to you instead. How? By providing them with what they need. What do people need? Information!

You see, when people go online to find a particular product or service, most of them don't start by typing the name of the product they want. Instead, they start by looking for answers or solutions to their problem. So the best strategy in growing an Internet business is to provide answers by writing articles or publishing videos about your niche. There are many article directories and even individual website owners who crave for these articles to be published on their sites with your link back on it either on the article body or on the resource box. For videos, YouTube is the number one free media on the Web where you can upload your informative video and provide link back to your site on the short video description.

Now that you know two of the top strategies to increase traffic to your website, it's time for you to learn how to keep a list of your visitors or the so called customer base building. This is another very important marketing strategy to employ in growing and Internet business. Customer base building is done by providing an opt-in page on your website where your visitors can sign up with their names and email address voluntarily. Just because they don't buy on their first visit doesn't mean that they're not interested in what you have to offer. Keeping a list of your visitors provides you an opportunity to reach them again every time you have something new to offer like a promo or special discounts.

To recap what you've learned so far, growing an Internet business needs a different strategy than other conventional businesses. Growing and Internet business entails providing people the information they need through articles and videos. And don't waste your hard-earned traffic by not providing an opt-in page to build your customer base too. These are just few of the many Internet business marketing strategies you can employ, so be sure to watch again for more of my issues.
