We are JewishDetroitWe are JewishDetroit. This is what WE achieve in Scholarships for Formal & Informal Jewish Education

When we say "We are JewishDetroit," this is what we achieve in Scholarships for Formal and Informal Jewish Education:

Over 67% of children enrolled in Jewish day schools and one third of those registered at congregation schools received scholarship assistance this past year, at an overall cost of more than $10.6 million. Day schools are seeing an increase in the number of scholarship requests for FY 2010-11. In the past few years, many families, who thought that they could pay their tuition obligations, came in mid-year to request tuition assistance and this situation is expected to repeat this year.

876 children received scholarships this summer to attend Jewish day and overnight camps, with $1.5 million given in scholarship support, $65,200 more than last summer. The scholarship requests are anticipated to continue to increase in the next few years given the poor economy. Day camp is often equivalent to child care for many working parents.
