subject: A College Student's View Of Why Did I Get Married Too [print this page] Just returned from seeing the new Tyler Perry movie and let me present you with the Why Did I Get Married Too movie review. Like any other movie, there were good parts and bad parts, however the movie was worth seeing because of the good parts. Tyler Perry is a force to be reckoned with if a person has never seen any of his movies. But I must warn the movie goers out there, the movies are either really good or really bad. But this movie was actually very good.
Tyler Perry makes all of works very easy to follow. He never creates a storyline that his audience finds foreign or unimportant. "Why did I get married?" is the literal interpretation of the movie. This is the continuation of the four couples from the end of the first movie. While all the other couples have new issues to deal with, Angela and Marcus contend with the same issue. Diane could be having an affair, Troy has no job and is being mean to Shelia, and Patricia and Gavin may not make it as a couple. We get an in depth look into the lives of the characters along with enough comic relief to keep the audience entertained
There are lots of memorable characters throughout the movie that are relatable in the sense that most people know someone like that in their lives. Perry has a natural knack for exposing people's weaknesses and flaws in a way that is natural and not forced. Immediately we recognize that Angela is an in-your-face kind of person that refuses to take anyone's mess especially her husband's. Patricia, Janet Jackson, is the model person that seems to keep everything bottled up although she has all the answers for everyone else. And even Terry, Tyler's character, is the model husband that pays attention to all details and has a lot of the advice on women, to just showcase a few.
With all the good parts of the movie the ending was still surprising. The prediction that one couple would not make it was alarming news but the reason is even more shocking. Perry usually wraps up the loose endings in his plays and movies. But in this movie it seems as if nothing really got resolved because Angela and Marcus never solved their problem while Patricia and Gavin just simply ended. Without giving away the ending I will say that it was rushed. He tries to put a yellow bow around it all but the movie really needed more time and that's a problem because the movie happened to be two hours and fifteen minutes. The rushing in the movie was a huge flaw but also the there were scenes out of focus and problems with the sound. Whether that was something the theater had wrong, the sound, or it being the movie itself, the focusing could have been corrected during production. I have no clue which it is. Needless to say, it was still an issue.
In the end the movie is definitely worth seeing although you may be okay with the ending or slightly disappointed. Not because it's bad, only rushed. This Why Did I Get Married Too movie review gives it 4 out of 5 stars.
