subject: Video Submission Software Is .... Worthless! [print this page]

I just submitted an article on an evaluation of 3 video submission software packages. I have now concluded that NONE of them are worth the time or the money.

Now, while I do believe that video submissions can get you listed on Google page 1 (I just did it) , within days, if not hours, I have concluded that bulk submissions of promotional videos to multiple video sites is worthless. in fact, I regularly get Google Page 1 listings within HOURS, doing manual submissions to just 6 video sharing sites.

I have been a big advocate of video submission software when it first came out 2 years ago. Then, it was exciting to upload a video to Traffic Geyser, submit it to 30+ video sites, and have it appear on Google's Page 1 within hours; even getting 2 or more listings.

But the Internet is all about change...and those changes have altered the landscape of the video submission business.

When Email was first being used, marketers realized that they could now reach MILLIONS of potential customers with a single click of the mouse. That lead to spam-filled email boxes, and laws against mass email submissions.

Look what is happening to Twitter. Now, every tweet you get has a link to one or another sales pitch. I rarely bother with Twitter anymore.

The same thing has happened with video submissions. Many video sharing sights were swamped with thousands...MILLIONS of promotional videos pushing one website or another. The result...many video sites have outright BANNED any promotional or commercial video. many of these sites will not accept any video that is submitted by an auto-submitter software...you must manually upload the file.

I discovered this last week, when I submitted a promotional video for a client's website, using Easy Push Button Marketing. The submission went fine; the submission record showed that the video had been successfully submitted, but when I went to the video site to find my video, it wasn't there. The submission may have worked, but because the site no longer accepts promotional videos, my video was rejected, or deleted. And you won't know unless you actually go to the site.

But when I manually uploaded my video to a site that allows promo videos, it was listed within minutes...and was listed on Goole Page 1 within 24 hours!

Check the Terms of use on your video sites. if it bans commercial videos, don't waste your time. Of course, if you have lots of stupid pet trick videos, these should work just fine with the submission software. If you are trying to promote your business, however, you need to verify whether your submission to 35 video sites is actually only being listed on 5 sites. In fact, so far, I've only found 7 video sites that accept promotional videos...and it doens't take that long to submit a video to 7 sites.
