Sexual Predators Don't Want Resistance

Can sexual predators be rehabilitated? There isn't much evidence stating that they can. So why does the justice system keep letting them back into society? How can you let someone out of prison who brutally assaulted a 13 yr old girl after only 5 years served?

Brain trauma, genetics, or epilepsy are possible causes of such psychopathic behavior. They don't have normal feelings of remorse, caring for others, empathy, guilt - the emotions that keep most people from inflicting pain on others. Some are actually born without normal human emotions. They know right from wrong, they can choose right over wrong, but they just don't care. They do what they have to to get what they want or feel they need. Society's need is to keep them locked up away from our children.

But unfortunately there is not much we can do about keeping them out of our neighborhoods. However, there are some things we can do to protect ourselves and our children. There are a few products on the market that can be very effective in keeping our children safe, 2 of them being pepper spray and personal alarms.

Personal protection devices such as pepper sprays and alarms are a good course of action to take against predators. States vary on legalities and age limits to carry pepper spray, though, so you need to check your state laws concerning this.

Pepper spray is a great deterrent to an assailant but there is always the chance of the spray blowing back into the face of the one spraying, especially in close quarters. However, a loud alarm can be used by anyone and will serve the purpose of scaring off the predator.

Sexual predators don't want a fight, don't want attention drawn to them, certainly don't want someone pointing out their location and intent by way of a loud ear piercing alarm. That is why every child should carry one. It isn't enough to just say no or to scream. No one can scream as loud as a 130 decibel alarm. Even if a child is snatched up and thrown in a car, he or she can still use their personal alarm while in the car to attract attention and distract the assailant long enough to jump out. They are small enough to carry in a pocket, but powerful enough to save a life.

Since some psychopathic sexual predators are genetically inclined to lack normal human emotions, it would be impossible to rehabilitate them because you cannot take someone back to a place they have never been. They won't change. If let loose in society, they will only continue their aberrant behavior which may very well escalate to murder. They need to be isolated away from our communities and our children.

Until the world becomes a safe place for the children, if ever again, get them a personal alarm. It's well worth the small price and could save a life. We can't keep the predators away but we can stop them in their tracks. With a personal alarm, a child can stop a perpetrator in his tracks.
