The wait is finally over as Blizzard released yet another expansion pack for World of Warcraft bumping up the total number of expansions to 3. This time the team at blizzard has gone the opposite of there last expansion, wrath of the lich king was a very cold enviroment, while this latest expansion, Cataclysm is a firey aftermath from then new antagonist DeathWing. So what is new about this expansion? Well they have released two new races which are the Worgan and the Golbins, of course the worgans are alliance and the goblins are horde. More character class combinations can be used and the new Archaeology secondary skill can be practiced by your character. Several balance and gameplay changes have been applied with one of the most significant ones being the raise of level cap to 85. There are plenty of level 80 players including a good handful of Horde characters so one of the biggest concerns for Horde players will be reaching the new level 85 milestone.
Anyone that is already 80 will not have to much trouble hitting 85, if your a tank or healer at 80 you might want to respec a dps talent tree to make it faster but with the instance finder you will not have any trouble leveling. That is not to say that this will be a walk in the park because you will face some strong adversaries as you move along and if you wish to do things very naturally, the best thing to do would be to participate in the new level 80 quests.
If your interested in leveling in the Vashj'ri zone, which if you don't already know is the underwater place where the naga quest lines are, then you will need to complete the sea legs quest asap once you get there, this will improve your movement underwater by 60%. You can then tackle other quests that give you experience such as the "Call of Duty" quest or "Pay It Forward" quest. There are plenty of quests that come with great rewards and nice experience boosts.
As you go through these new quests, you are bound to visit some of the new dungeons and instances in Cataclysm. Take note of these areas because you will meet more powerful mobs and other enemies than any creatures that you have faced in previous expansion packs. These enemies require new strategies to overcome too and they will vary depending on your Horde character. Just learn the weak points of these mobs so you can do some effective grinding as you try to uncover the secrets of every instance. Once you have leveled up continue to quest and take on even more challanging quests and instances.
The release of World of Warcraft Cataclysm led to updated versions of those interactive leveling guides such as the popular Zygor's guide. If you used these guides in the past to get your Horde character to level 80, visit the site where you obtained the guide to get some information on how to upgrade the guide so you can work your way through Cataclysm challenges. Overall, the gameplay experience should be similar but expect some excitement as you venture deeper into the story as your character grows.
