subject: Pray Continually And Stay Connected To God – Part 1 [print this page] Pray Continually And Stay Connected To God Part 1
When you pray to God, you are requesting something earnestly from Him and praising Him at the same time for all He has done for you. Prayer is a supplication or an entreaty to God, and it is a connection between you and The ALMIGHTY. It is like breathing, which has to be done without ceasing.
Prayer is also a two-way conversation between you and God; you talk to Him and He talks to you in return. Even though millions of us are praying to God in any given minute, He listens to each, individually, because He is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient (all-knowing) God. So you should never feel less important when you pray, because to Him, you are the only one.
Be confident that God is giving you His full attention, on a one-to-one basis. His line is never engaged, there is no call waiting and there is no conference call. He speaks to you only and no one hears the conversation between you and God. The bible tells us in 1 Peter 3:12a, "For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their prayer." He is a loving and kind Father and He wants to hear from you all the time.
Your prayers ascend to God's throne, regardless of the time and the form you use. It is not the words we pray that matter but the condition of our hearts matters to God. Whatever method you use, just talk to your Heavenly Father as He wants to hear what is on your heart. Since God is omniscient and He only desires the best for us, He does not always give us what we ask for, if He knows that it will not be good for us to have it at a particular time.
God's ways are not our ways and our ways are not His ways. His timing is always perfect and we may not understand why God does the things He does. But we can have assurance in knowing that everything He does is perfect. Jesus told His disciples in Luke 18:1, "they should always pray and not give up". Constant prayer means keeping our requests continually before God and believe that He will answer us.
If you live by faith and not by sight, you will not give up easily. God may delay answering some prayers but He has good reasons for His delays. We must never confuse this with neglect or denial to our prayers. As you persist in prayers and keep knocking on God's door, you will grow in character, faith and hope. Never, never give up. Keep looking up to the Almighty and be full of expectations from Him all the time.
In order to make the most of your time, take time to pray. When you can, step aside from your activities and prayerfully ask God to tune you to His Word and His will. Demands of work, family and church can require re-evaluation. We must not be too busy and neglect spending time with our Heavenly father. The time we spend with God is very important for our spiritual growth.
PRAYER OF SALVATION
If you have not already committed your life to Jesus and you would like to do so now, please pray this prayer:
"Lord Jesus, I am sorry for all the things I have done wrong. Thank you for dying for me on the cross, to set me free from my sins. I ask you to come into my life as my personal Lord and Saviour, and fill me with the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord Jesus. Amen."
Congratulations, if you have prayed this prayer. Please look for a Bible-believing church, to fellowship with the brethren. Please do not hesitate to contact me, if I can be of any assistance to you. Remain blessed and enjoy the presence of the Lord.
