The days of cosmetic surgeons being limited to hammertoe surgery and bunion removal are gone as a legion of new customers come in demanding they have their feet reshaped to fit the latest Jimmy Choos!

Rather thean hobble in pain plastic surgeons are now advising women on the best feet cosmetic surgery to mould their feet into model perfect examples, so they wear their favourite heals.

It means for many that they are opting for toe shortening or what some surgeons are now calling the 'Pinky Tuck' or Designer Pinky Toe surgery.

One New York based surgeon told Cosmetic Answers: 'What you wear on your feet is now just as important to some women as what they look like and we are seeing a real surge in demand for cosmetic feet surgery or the pinky tuck.'

According to feet experts, however, the risk of nerve damage, after surgery pain and infection are high in cosmetic feet surgery and it should only be considered if absolutely necessary.

The surgery itself requires full general anaethesia and while you are out your surgeon will cut away the skin on the toes and carefully remove bone to shape it to the correct size before restitching. It can take anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours depending on how complex the bone reshaping is.
