A common criticism of Sofia Coppola's films is that "nothing happens". Nowhere does this (unfair) statement seem more appropriate than her latest, Somewhere, which unfolds at a pace so relaxed it is nearly horizontal.
Indeed, despite its delicate examination of celebrity culture, the film is a perfect antidote to the 'MTV Generation' attention span and need-it-now turnover of the celeb gossip machine.
Stephen Dorff is Johny Marco, an action superstar in danger of going to seed. We meet his car before we meet him, as his black Ferrari tears around a dirt track, so many times it becomes mesmeric.
