subject: Quick And Easy Meals Just About Anyone Can Prepare [print this page]

For some people, cooking really isn't a priority in life or even something that you enjoy. Many people just don't have time to cook a full course meal every day, and so they resort to unhealthy fast foods. They may exist on convenience foods and boxed mixes rather than taking the effort to prepare healthy meals for their families or their own personal enjoyment.

How many times have you resorted to a lunch of canned soup or macaroni instead of sitting down to a health homemade sandwich or a salad? This article has many ideas to a great start for ending the lunch rut we all seem to find ourselves in at some time or another. You'll learn that you can enjoy the preparation and consumption of a healthy, home-prepared meal.

Not all great lunches require actual cooking to prepare. Some of them will require the use of the microwave and some of them will need to be cooked or prepared beforehand and reheated. The choices are virtually limitless once you understand the resources that are available to you on the internet and institute a little creative thinking. You'll also find that many of these ideas are so simple you will wonder why you have never thought of them. I certainly hope that some of these ideas will become habit in your home. You'll begin to feel and look healthier almost immediately if they do. Here are a couple of easy ideas to get you started:

1. Tortilla Wraps

These delicious lunch treats and the filling can be prepared ahead of time, which leaves only reheating the filling and wrapping when you're ready to eat. This is a fun lunch to share with your family and it teaches them that lettuce is much more versatile than people often give it credit for being. Some people choose to go with a grilled chicken and honey mustard inspired filling. My family likes taco based fillings in our lunch wraps. You are perfectly free to come up with a recipe of your very own.

2. Sandwiches With Specialty & Flavored Breads

Believe it or not, my family loves to try new things. It's a rare trait for which I am extremely grateful. I understand all too well how fortunate I am. My youngest however, has a little difficulty with thick or crusty bread. Her favorite sandwich choice has become bologna on a dinner roll. We put the meat, cheese, mustard, and pickle in her sandwich as if it were a bun and she's thrilled. Other great ideas include hollowing out crusty rolls and filling them with roast beef and Swiss. You can bake this in your oven for a few minutes for a piping hot sandwich treat. The cooking part is very minimal and you do not have to have in-depth culinary knowledge to enjoy these simple treats. Other great bread ideas include croissants with ham and cheese or chicken salad and taco pitas. Paninis work really well if you have a George Foreman grill or a panini press.

While this is by no means the definitive guide to cooking quick and easy lunches it is good food for thought. The hope is that this will get your creative juices flowing so that you can prepare delicious lunches for your family without needing to do too much heavy cooking in the process. Another fantastic, delicious, and easy lunch is homemade chili. Follow the link below to a fantastic recipe!
