subject: Popular Neckwear Options For Men [print this page]

Unlike long ago where men were restricted to wearing the bowtie, they now have a varied number of options from which they can choose their neckwear. There is the tie, bowtie, the cravat.

A tie is the most preferred choice of neckwear nowadays, and they come in a wide range of style, size, shape, length and colour. The right tie for a specific event is crucial, as well as its colour, which should be the most considered before choosing a tie. There are ties for the boardroom, weekends and ties even for the country club meeting. The last thing you want is to wear a green tie to a black tie event. Prices vary as well, according to brand name, style and definitely the material used in its manufacture.

Various types of ties

Just because you have chosen he right colour for a tie, it doesn't mean that the style automatically qualifies too. Ties come in a vast number of styling. Just as the knot is important, style can determine the appropriate knot to be used. Ties can be chosen with reference to your size, body built and your height. There are plaid neckties which are great for winter and stripped ties which can give any man's suit a bit of colour and uniqueness and are a great accessory for everyday wear to the office.

We have the bowtie as well, which was a must wear for man in the past decades. If worn with a versatile and unique style bows can present a rather sophisticated and mature look in a man's outfit. These are most preferable for classy events or in place of a black tie to black tie event.

A cravat is a scarf worn around a man's neck in place of a tie. These can be worn to classy diners or special occasions during the winter or a cold summer night. It can either be worn over a jacket or underneath it but never underneath a shirt as the look tends to be clumsy than smart.

The right shoes

Choosing the right shoes is also essential for a finished, polished look. With such a wide range of designs it can be easy to pick a shoe and put it on. Wearing a shoe can be pretty tricky as often one picks his pair of shoes last after the whole outfit has been chosen. A man must always have in mind that while it is safe foe women to go slightly overboard with colour, it can easily transform to an eyesore if he takes it another level of wearing a red suit with yellow shoes or mixing outrageously bright colour, especially for shoes. The best is to invest in a high quality pair of black lace up leather shoes which can be worn on any occasion only requiring polishing and proper storage.

Buying on a Budget

What if you want to exude success, confidence and intellect but you are tight in the pocket. Do you opt for a cheap imitation of your favourite brand which might tear the minute you wear them or do you buy a second hand from a pawn shop. While buying a second can be a good idea, a man never wants his ego t be bruised by being called "the second hand guy". Stores do sell a wide range of quality products at affordable prices. For a suit you can buy the jacket and trouser separately making sure the colours match perfectly.

A white tie is with no question the most common as it goes with virtually every other colour and these are available in many retail outlets. Buying on a budget requires one to avoid choosing colours that go with only one suit in the closet. Be careful not choose a size that might seem perfect for a moment, but too tight or to big when you wear it. Always wear a black leather belt with silver and plain buckle. How good you want look or impress should not leave your with a credit bank balance that will take all your salary to pay. Spend and buy wisely, but still look elegant and successful, you too could be placed amongst the best well dressed men in public today.
