America's Best Trout Fishing Spots
America's Best Trout Fishing Spots

America happens to host many of the very best fishing locations the world has to offer. Here is a list of some of the fishing holes you may want to add to your bucket list when planning upcoming fishing trips.

Wind River Range

Very large fish are rather easy to come by here in the Wind River Canyon. Many of the fish that are reeled in here have been reported to measure at least 20 inches in length. If you are looking for some fine trout fishing, swing on by Wyoming's Wind River Range.

Henry's Fork

Known to many as one of the most abundantly diverse fishing spots on earth, Idaho's Henry's Fork has as much for the new fisherman as it does for the advanced anglers. Because of the numerous insects the area is filled with, fly fishermen especially know that this is an ideal spot to practice their fishing techniques up against some of the pickiest rainbow trout there are.

Nakalilok Bay

Alaska is where you can find Nakalilok Bay right on the edge of the Alaska Peninsula. One of the best, most remote fishing locations, Nakalilok Bay has everything an angler in search of some peaceful fishing could want, including silver salmon.

North Umpqua River

If steelhead fishing is for you, then plan your trip for North Umpqua River as this location has more than one kind of steelhead ready to take your bait. If you appreciate rather choppy runs, water pockets or chutes lined with rocks then head to Oregon for a once in a lifetime fishing experience.

Green River

Located in north east Utah, the Green River has almost 35 miles available for fishing as it glides along amazingly red canyons and strange little pools. The contrasting green colors of the water hide some of the best brown trout in the state that have been reported to reach over 30 pounds.

The Keys

If you are lucky to be in the Florida Keys area following a somewhat tame winter, then you might be lucky enough to find yourself in the midst of welcoming some schools of tarpon to the area with a nice piece of bait.

Gallatin River

With over 90 miles of pure water made up of small streams, you better expect to be catching all the rainbow trout you can catch as well as browns and whitefish. Begin your journey in Yellowstone Park until you reach Three Forks. Don't be surprised if you recognize this area as many movies have chosen this location for their setting.
