subject: Cruiser Style Motorcycle: The Preferred Choice [print this page] When it comes to riding motorcycles, many people have there preference with regard to the type of bike that they ride and thats typically what they stay true to throughout there lives. For me, its the cruiser style motorcycle that I prefer for a few reasons.
One of the reasons I enjoy the cruiser style motorcycle is because of the laid back feel that you get while riding. The reason for this is because the seat on a cruiser is usually quite a bit lower to the ground and positioned in the back position, meaning the rider is not leaning forward on the motorcycle but straight up or even a little backward. The handlebars are also position differently as they are positioned further back. Some handlebars are now positioned even lower than before so your hands are closer to your legs than they are with traditional handlebar positioning.
Another reason I enjoy the cruiser style motorcycle is because the body style allows you to ride in more of gliding style rather than the get up and go riding style that sport bikes provide. Because the cruiser is generally bigger and heavier than most other styles of bike, they are not as maneuverable in corners and therefore you are forced to take the corners a little slower and more cautiously. This is alright with me because Im usually not in a hurry to get through the corners quickly.
I like to enjoy the scenery while Im riding so that is why I prefer the cruiser over other styles of motorcycle. Because there is more of a laid back feeling while riding, you tend to pay more attention to the surroundings and the view rather than youre riding techniques or how fast you went through the turns.
One of the other reasons I prefer the cruiser style motorcycle is because of the customization factor. There is an unlimited supply of chrome, leather, and other accessories and add-ons that you can buy for your bike which help to dress it up to really give that biker look and feel. You typically dont find as much chrome and leather on sport bikes so you dont really get that biker look.
