subject: Obama Grants Providing Moms With Openhanded Scholarships [print this page]

Although the government beneath the popular Obama administration is working hard to assist working mothers to return to college many are still unsure as to what the Obama grant is truly about. While federal programs such as ones assisting working mothers in attending college have been brought to the fore they are merely existing government benefits that have been reworked. For moms who wish to return to College the Pell grants creates a huge plus point and is certainly causing many to take note.

One of long term and common forms of financial aid which can be obtained through the government particularly for college is known as the Federal Pell grant. The Pell grant plays a huge advantage to any student awarded such aid as it does not require repayment at the end typical of a normal loan. Pell grants are generally awarded to students seeking an undergraduate degree who have not already earned a bachelor's or professional degree. Scholarships for Mom's program is causing quite a stir mainly due to its great benefits for single, working mothers alike. Although there is no specific program by that name, President Obama and his administration encourage moms to attend college using the money available to them through Pell grants.

In addition to being a monetary gift rather than a loan, Pell grants don't place restrictions on other sources of financial aid that you can receive. Aid can be obtained to cover further educational cost through federal programs and private, non-federal organizations alike. The 1st of July 2009 begins the start of the award year which will come to an end on the 30th June 2010 with the maximum being paid out through the Pell grant of $5,350.00. Other sources will be needed to supplement college cost which may not be covered by the federal Pell grant aid. Furthermore, if you are awarded money, its use is not limited to paying for tuition. Educational costs may also include housing, books, laptops and housing as acceptable expenses.

With the Obama administration focusing its attention on education the Pell grant program and its benefits have been highlighted making the scholarships for moms' all the more popular. Such a federal program makes for a favorable choice when it comes to single mothers who are working and wish to earn a degree. For some college was a dream that had to be left on the side due to financial difficulties or family concerns, this is no longer so.

Obama grants through the federal Pell grant program are highly beneficial to help get more students to go to college. This can be said especially for those working mothers. If you're a single mom working a full-time job, the current administration is encouraging you to return to college and earn a degree. The current administration is heartily cheering for single, full-time working mothers to apply for college and earn a degree. Why not make your dreams a reality?
